Original 1943 Ford GPW Jeep

Original 1943 Ford GPW Jeep for Restoration. For sale is this original WW2 Ford GPW Jeep. It was built in December 1943 and has a clear chassis number stamp. The Jeep is f marked throughout and very original including, steering wheel, Outer Screen frame, F marked driver seat and correct passenger seat, Wartime correct replacement GPW engine with f marked head (engine turns by hand).

The front and rear axles are original to the Jeep and in excellent condition. Ford GPW168800 served with the Australian Army and our research of the records held at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra indicate it was issued the ARN (Australian Hood Number) of 146272. The Jeep will need new tub floors as it has rusted in the usual places. The Chassis frame is good and solid except for a couple of small sections which will need restoration (New sections will be included to facilitate this work). Lots of F marked parts on this jeep, including the original front frame horns which are in excellent condition and require no work at all.

Original Wartime replacement Ford GPW engine is complete and ready for restoration with an f marked head. The T84 Transmission and transfer box are Ford and original to this jeep. This Jeep will make an excellent restoration project of an original 1943 Ford GPW Jeep.
