Early 1942 Script Ford GPW Jeep Project
Early 1942 Script Ford GPW Jeep GPW26981. This early 1942 Script Ford GPW is an unfinished restoration project. The rolling chassis has been fully restored including, front and rear axles, brakes and diffs, original springs re-tensioned, un-numbered GPW engine has been re-built along with the clutch, T84 transmission and transfer case. The radiator and cooling system have been restored, new WOF 6v starter and generator, restored original distributor, new exhaust system, restored original manifolds, restored original steering system, solex carburettor (original carter carb also included) and new shocks all installed. The Body tub is the original Script GPW body for this chassis and it has been stripped, blasted, repaired where required and is now ready to give the finishing touches before re-priming and painting.
The body tub is complete with original script front seats, original front fenders, flat top f marked radiator grill, GPW Hood, GPW pintle, New Fuel tank, Headlights and rear lights, GPW toolbox lids, axe and shovel brackets, spare wheel bracket, original Windscreen frames (internal and external). The Jeep has the outer two original data plates but not the middle one. The original gauges are missing but a set of reproduction gauges are included. This is an excellent opportunity to finish a desirable Script GPW Jeep project where all the hard and expensive restoration work has been completed. To finish it off, the Jeep needs to be primed and painted and the following parts: wiring loom, brake pipes, switches, cushions and canvas hood, rear seat, hood bows, hood bow brackets, windscreen glass.
