Very Rare early WWII made 1942 Ford Script GPW Navy Military Jeep 4x4 4 cyl, 3-spd. (Not Willys MB Army Jeep). Body # 2153 of 2190 total ever made until after Feb.

Then only 1 of 653 Navy made GPW jeeps made for the entire year, plus being the rare ford Script that was only made the first months of the war, makes it even more rare, like around 1 of 50-200 Ford Script Navy? Ford Script is the rear Ford letters stamped into the metal that the Gov. Told Ford to discontinue their logo just months into production. Engine cranks quiet and fast with spark plugs out, but when plugs are in, the starter cranks too slow to start with the compression, so may need a rebuilt starter before being re-started. It may just need a better or cleaned starter ground wire, but I never went any further. Looks to be original Navy paint with a hood star and call letters still seen on the inside windshield. The original blue hood numbers are partially visible where the gray paint came off the original green, and could easily be recovered by just chipping off the gray to the factory paint. It looks to have been released by the government and California registered in 1949 to its 1946 type Willys CJ2A 4 cyl engine # J207731 according to the clear real pink slip Ca. I have the last registration showing 1985 as do the original black California plates, after that it was driven on private land in gold country and then stored in an enclosed storage container where it stayed clean, dry and very rust free all these years.
