Early 1942 Script Ford GPW Jeep Project

Early 1942 Script Ford GPW Jeep GPW20316. This early 1942 Script Ford GPW will make an excellent project. Having served with the Australian military during World War Two, she is now ready to be restored and used.

The chassis is in excellent condition and is ready to go. The original GPW tub is in very good condition throughout.

It will need a new rear panel where the original script panel was replaced at some point. The front and rear hat channels have gone in the usual places and the driver side, side panel will need a patch repair. Both tool box floors are original and in good order.

The axles are in good original condition, as are the springs. She comes with a complete set of four original combat rims, all of which are in very good order (only two pictured). The Correct original T84 Transmission and transfer case are in place.

The transmission changes through the gears and is excellent internal condition appearing to have been restored in the Jeep's recent history. The engine bay appears a bit bare but the following parts are included voltage regulator, fuel filter and housing, oil filter housing, water pump and fan, exhaust manifolds, radiator, thermostat housing and dipstick. The engine is seized and we yet to investigate the cause. It is a later war GPW engine and to aid the restoration project a second original GPW Block will be included.

The Jeep is f marked throughout with original f marked front seats included (but not photographed), f marked throttle pedal, foot rests, bumperettes, radiator grill, hood hinge etc. The steering wheel is original but in very poor condition. The chassis number is clear and legible. The left and right data plates are on the jeep but the centre plate is missing.

A reproduction centre plate can be re-produced as part of the restoration. This is a very good starting point for a script GPW project. If you have any questions or would like further information please do not hesitate to ask. She has a UK NOVA reference for UK age related registration.
